May 16, 2013 @ La Roue du Roy

We spent the afternoon shooting sporting clays at the La Roue du Roy, Hemmingford Quebec.

The club, under new ownership has been gutted (bulldozed) and is in the process of being rebuilt.

The club was not a pretty sight on todays visit, but come fall, will be something to see.

Last year the club saw road and parking lot paving, the rebuilding of the skeet fields, and the return of trap after a long absence.

This year the club is undergoing major improvements; rebuilt sporting clays stands, new trailers for machines, major landscaping of the property, and major additions to the club house (front, interior, and rear). That is just what was visible when just looking around, other improvements are also being made.

In regard to sporting clays, only the sporting clays course along the entrance road was usable, along with the FITASC parcour. Two stations, in an area where I have shot sporting in the past, was also available.  Very serious targets on these two stations.  This area of the club, is at some point this summer, will see the sitting of 18 to 20 stations.

The club has dropped the initiation fee to join.  12 month memberships are available.

The club will be hosting a sporting clays shoot in September of this year!
