2015 Southeastern Regional Skeet Championships (Olympic Skeet)

I visited the Gator club in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday to take a few photos and to film the  2015 Southeastern Regional Trap & Skeet Championships (Olympic Skeet / Olympic Trap).

SHOOT PHOTOS / VIDEO (SKEET)

A foggy start to the day and both the start of the trap and skeet events were delayed to let the fog lift.

I watched them set the skeet fields to International standards. 72yds@65mph versus American skeet 61yds@~50mph.   They used a tape measure and target hoop.

They shoot International targets that are larger and harder then the regular targets we shoot.  Harder, as the targets are thrown faster and longer distances. Normal targets would break coming off the arm of a machine set to throw International targets.

A low gun game with a 0-3 second random delay on every push of the button.  No moving the gun until you see the target.

The new format used in the last few years seems to have a quicker pace then American skeet. They moved to throwing more doubles per 25.

I only stayed around for AM shooting, but what I saw for the most part was impressive.  Even saw a 25 straight shot.

I included a number of slow motion shots in the video. Normal settings on the camera just doesn't do it consistently enough because of target speed..  Also, overcast skies were my friend today and the camera lens had an easier time seeing the target.
