29 Jul Bulls-Eye Shoot Cancelled

The July 29th shoot at Bulls-Eye Sporting Center in Vermont has been cancelled.  Please pass this information along to any of your shooting friends that generally attend, just in case they don't get email.  For those of you that may not be aware.  During the torrential rain that Vermont experienced a couple weeks ago, Dave and his family were impacted by floods waters that severely damaged the shooting course and their home.  They are currently working to get their world back to normal.  We will send along updates on future shoots as things unfold.  In the meantime, the sporting community sends their best to the family.

Montpelier Gun Club Vermont Devastating Flood

 ATA Facebook Page

The Montpelier Gun Club Vermont has experienced devastating flooding. The club was able to remove the Pat Traps on Sunday but the club house and trap houses were inundated with flood waters from the Winooski River. The shot curtain and/or the poles are also likely damaged but they will not know until the flood waters recede. If you’ve never shot at this club you’ve miss out on good people who love shooting trap and go out of their way to host a good shoot.

This will likely be a financially devastating event for the club without assistance since insurance will likely not cover the flood loss.

Please consider donating to help rebuild the club. Please makes checks payable to the Montpelier Gun Club and note your donation. Mail to Box 664, Montpelier, VT 05601. This is the address of the VT Trapshooting Association. Remember “There go I but for the grace of God.”

Update via Don Whiton.

Things looking much better today than yesterday. It had been reported at one point in the storm the water was up over the top of the clubhouse. There will be much work to be done once we're able to get in there.

Browning & Winchester Demo Day Visit @ Montreal Skeet

It was billed as "Browning Canada and Winchester Repeating Arms Canada Demo Day".

I had to ask where the Winchester tent was as didn't see it. No tent, no banners.

Learn something every day. Was told Browning owned Winchester.

Looking at the Winchester web site I saw left-handed semi's. Might not be a hot seller but almost a certain sale for someone wanting a left-handed configuration in a semi. One of the shotguns I wanted to take a look at out of curiosity but didn't see any.

It was demo day.  It could be arraigned to take out a shotgun and fire it.

Moving on...

Company is out of Quebec City.  They can do about anything you ask of them.

My computer won't let me access their website.  I mentioned it and two phones appeared.  No problems.  I use a couple of virus programs as I'm all over the internet. One must be seeing something it doesn't like, but the two had no issues.

A good first impression.  The two I talked to spoke English.

A 25-target 5-stand fun shoot.  Prizes and drawing.  As in such events more than a few first time shooting 5-stand.  Hittable targets with a little practice.

Entering Canada, I was the second vehicle in line (I-87 / I-15).  Looking across it looked like One Hour and thirty minutes to enter the USA.  I used a different crossing on return.
